Nxt-ID to release biometric smart wallet
Shelton, Conn. – Nxt-ID Inc. intends to launch a smart wallet called Wocket. A biometrically secure smart wallet with a smart card that is immediately zeroized after each transaction, Wocket is designed to be useless to a thief.
Accessible only through a unique combination of voice, PIN or pattern, Wocket transactions are entirely separate from cell or smart phones. Virtually any card can be protected on the thin Wocket: up to 10,000 credit, debit, ATM, loyalty, gift, ID, membership, insurance, ticket, emergency, medical, business, contacts, and coupons, records and up to 100 voice commands. Much smaller than a typical wallet, the standard Wocket will be 3.7”W x 2.75”L x .39”H. Nxt-ID plans to release Wocket on May 28.
“At a time when smartphones are stolen and hacked daily, consumers are concerned about having all their payment information and identity on their phone,” said Gino Pereira, CEO, Nxt-ID. “Wocket will evolve as the payment industry evolves and this is just the beginning of our MobileBio suite of products that include technologies for encryption of data to further reduce credit card fraud of the type recently experienced by Target. Future versions of Wocket will include a wider range of communication technologies, such as 4G and NFC, protected by our encryption technologies.”
