Washington, D.C. - The National Retail Federation (NRF) is publicly supporting the May 14 Senate vote on Trade Promotion Authority. Trade Promotion Authority is legislation from Congress outlining objectives and oversight for trade negotiations between the U.S. and other countries.
The retail industry welcomes today’s vote on Trade Promotion Authority and hopes it is a harbinger of congressional support for free and open trade,” the NRF said in a statement. “As our Trade Matters report shows, international trade is good for business, consumers, families and workers, and supports nearly 7 million restaurant and retail jobs here in the U.S. We praise the Senate on this bipartisan vote and victory.”
