NRF spent $590,000 in Q2 lobbying
Washington, D.C. The National Retail Federation spent $590,000 in lobbying in the second quarter, according to a federal government report released Friday. That was less than the $500,000 the NRF spent in 2009's second quarter and well under the $740,000 it spent in first quarter 2010.
Among the highest-profile issues the group watched was the Credit Card act, meant to give credit-card users more information and limit policies that consumer rights groups consider abusive.
The trade group also lobbied the federal government on legislation involving the safety of imported seafood, health care, organized crime and immigration.
