NRA slams Walmart

9/3/2019
The National Rifle Association wasted no time in replying to Walmart's decision to further step back from gun sales in its stores.

The gun rights group accused the nation’s largest retailer of giving in to “the anti-gun elites” after Walmart announced it was discontinuing the sale of handgun ammunition and short-barrel rifle ammunition such as the .223 caliber and 5.56 caliber that can also be used on assault-style weapons, and asking customers to not openly carrying firearms in its stores. The NRA warned that the chain would pay a price for its actions.

“Lines at Walmart will soon be replaced by lines at other retailers who are more supportive of America’s fundamental freedoms,” the NRA said in a statement.

The NRA went on to say that Walmart’s actions will “not make us any safer.”

“Rather than place the blame on the criminal, Walmart has chosen to victimize law-abiding Americans,” the group stated.
