NPD names new president of U.S. foodservice business unit

CHICAGO The NPD Group has appointed Arnie Schwartz as president of its U.S. foodservice business unit, which provides information and insights used by operators, distributors, and manufacturers of products in the restaurant and foodservice industry.

Formerly president of NPD’s North America food and beverage business unit, Schwartz will now manage a portfolio of information services designed to track and provide insight into consumers' use of foodservice establishments and products. 

Schwartz, who has been with NPD since 1987, has held a progression of client service and management roles in both the food and beverage and foodservice units at NPD.

“Arnie brings to his new role strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of the food and foodservice industries, and an unwavering commitment to meeting client needs,” says Randall Smith, group president of U.S. food and automotive, Canada and Latin America at NPD.  “Over the years, he has demonstrated a keen interest in developing innovative services to track and understand consumer attitudes and behavior concerning food and beverage products.  Arnie’s wide-ranging experience will certainly be welcomed by our clients in the foodservice industry.”
