NPD earns Wal-Mart supplier award


BENTONVILLE, Ark. Wal-Mart has named The NPD Group as Syndicated Supplier of the Year in the Insights and Customer Strategy Department.

NPD was reward for its customized consumer tracking service it created for Wal-Mart and Sam's Club and for selected vendors doing business with the retailers. According to NPD, the service provides the retailers and their vendors with an extensive view of what’s happening within and across categories based on each retailer’s consumer segmentation scheme, departmental structure, and geographic trading areas.  The service provides consumer insight across a broad spectrum of industries and a common language for Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, and their vendors to inform and facilitate business decision making.
