Nov. Comps dip at Longs Drug Stores

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. Longs Drug Stores reported a slight sales gain and a comparable-store sales decrease for the month of November.

Longs Drug Stores today reported preliminary total retail drug store sales from continuing operations of $362 million for the four-week period ended Nov. 22, an increase of 1.8% from $355 million in the comparable period a year ago. Total same-store sales decreased 0.6% for the quarter.

For the year to date, Longs reported total sales of $3.9 billion, a 3.3% increase over the same period last year. Same-store sales for the period were up 1.3%.
