NOTIFIER’S NFS2-3030 Intelligent Fire Alarm Panel Meets New UL Standard

10/2/2007

NOTIFIER, part of the Honeywell Life Safety Group, introduces the new, UL 864 Ninth Edition listed NFS2-3030 intelligent fire-alarm control panel.

The NFS2-3030, with its tremendous point capacity and powerful programming options, is the ideal choice for large-scale applications (such as malls) requiring custom solutions and superior performance. The NFS2-3030, part of NOTIFIER’s ONYX Series, offers exclusive technologies that maximize system capacity, speed alarm response, and simplify maintenance and usability. It also features a modular design, multiple display options, and the power and sophistication synonymous with the ONYX Series.

The NFS2-3030 supports up to 10 Signaling Line Circuits (SLCs), for a maximum capacity of 3,180 intelligent devices (159 sensors/159 modules per SLC). The NFS2-3030 offers built-in Notification Appliance Circuits (NAC) synchronization protocol for System Sensor, Wheelock, and Gentex horns, strobes and horn/strobes. The NFS2-3030 is easily expanded via the NOTI•FIRE•NET intelligent fire-alarm network to accommodate facility expansion or campus-style applications.

The NFS2-3030 offers an optional integrated digital voice evacuation system, ONYX Digital Voice Command (DVC). This digital audio evacuation, paging and firefighter’s telephone system uses eight channels of audio to deliver live, high-quality emergency paging while simultaneously broadcasting multiple, distinct messages throughout an entire facility or selected areas.

The NFS2-3030 also features NOTIFIER’s patented FlashScan intelligent device polling protocol, which exceeds worldwide code requirements for response time. This, combined with ONYX Intelligent Sensing technology—an integral part of all ONYX Series panels—ensures a faster response to smoke and heat conditions while substantially reducing nuisance alarms. With the NFS2-3030’s auto-program feature, fire protection can be established in seconds.

The 640-character LCD display, highly intuitive menu options, and built-in QWERTY keypad make it easier for facility managers to perform basic programming and maintenance functions, such as enabling/disabling of points and detector sensitivity testing.
