Nordstrom partnership with Shoes of Prey allows shoppers to design their own shoes

3/31/2015

Sydney, Australia -- Australian omnichannel footwear retailer Shoes of Prey, which enables shoppers to design their own shoes, has launched phase two of its “Design Your Own Shoes” studios in partnership with Nordstrom. The collaboration marks the brand’s first foray into the U.S. market, bringing its virtual design experience to a physical shop-in-shop concept.

Beginning in spring 2015, five additional Shoes of Prey studio areas will open in Nordstrom locations throughout the U.S. including San Francisco; Newport Beach, California; Paramus, New Jersey; Washington D.C.; and Chicago. (The existing studio in Bellevue, Washington, opened in November 2014.)

The design studios, which are located within the Nordstrom shoe department, include a “statement” shoe wall that exhibits the variety of styles available to the customer.

iPads featuring the 3-D online shoe designer allow customers to create their own shoes in-store, selecting the style, colors, materials, heel height and embellishments. Customers can mix and match from more than 170 materials including premium snakeskin, fish skin, silk, suede, a variety of leathers including vegan materials.

Special “shoe stylists” will also be available to guide customers through the design process. Every pair of shoes is made to order and customers may pick up their shoes at Nordstrom or have them directly shipped to their home in four weeks or less.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Nordstrom by opening ‘Design Your Own Shoes’ studios in different regions after the successful Bellevue launch,” said Jodie Fox, CCO and co-founder, Shoes of Prey. “We’re excited to bring a solution for women who can’t find shoes with the exact the heel height, toe shape, material or size that they’re seeking.”
