Nordstrom January Same-Store Sales Fall 11.4%

Seattle Nordstrom Inc. said Thursday that same-store sales skidded 11.4%. Seattle-based Nordstrom said overall sales for the month fell 3.7% to $468 million.

For the quarter, preliminary sales fell 8.5% to $2.3 billion — ahead of expectations. Wall Street analysts expected quarterly revenue of $2.26 billion. Fourth-quarter same-store sales fell 12.5%.

For the full year, Nordstrom said sales fell 6.3% to $8.27 billion while full-year comparable sales fell 9%.
