Nordstrom is upping its street cred.
The online sneaker marketplace Stadium Goods will open an in-store shop featuring rare, highly-coveted sneakers in Nordstrom’s new Manhattan men's store. The three-level, 47,000-sq.-ft. store is set to open on April 12.
"Sneakers are the fastest growing category in men's footwear," stated Kristin Frossmo, executive VP and general merchandise manager for shoes at Nordstrom. "Sneakers have disrupted fashion and are now being mixed with everyday looks from desk to dinner.”
The Stadium Goods shop at Nordstrom will feature a curated selection of Stadium Goods’ most recent best-sellers based off its own sales data, reported
Footwear News, and it could serve as a test site for an expansion to other Nordstrom stores.
Stadium Goods currently has one store, in downtown Manhattan. But the brand plans to launch flagships in new markets this year, according to the report.
In addition to the Stadium Goods in-store shop, the Nordstrom’s men store will feature a coffee bar, VIP dressing rooms, complimentary Wi-Fi, a denim embroidery station, same-day delivery and an online “Reserve & Try In Store” service.
