No cone of uncertainty here

Hurricane season officially begins June 1 and now storm preparedness has officially become a micro-seasonal sales opportunity courtesy of President Barack Obama. The president on May 20 declared the week of May 23 as National Hurricane Preparedness Week, and Target let it be known it is ready for whatever Mother Nature brews up in the tropics this year. The company said it operates an around the clock command center at its corporate office from which it monitors events worldwide and facilitates enterprise wide communications. Stores remain open as long as possible in advance of storms and reopen as soon as possible after storms pass. “We want our guests to know that before and after a crisis, communities can count on Target,” says Brad Brekke, VP Target assets protection.
