Nike ends contract with Vick

BEAVERTON, Ore, Nike has terminated its contract with NFL star Michael Vick, following the news that the Atlanta Falcons quarterback would enter a guilty plea for dogfighting charges after admitting in a court filing that he helped finance the fights and supported the killing of underperforming dogs.

In July, Nike released a statement regarding Vick saying that will suspend the release of the Zoom Vick V and related marketing communications. At the time, the company said it would not end its relationship with Vick, saying that he should be afforded the same due process as any citizen.
