New trends emerge at Tabletop
NEW YORK The Tabletop Show concluded in New York last week and demonstrated the evolution of several ongoing trends in the home goods marketplace.
As part of an agreement between licensor Williamsburg and flatware producer Reed & Barton, two new flatware patterns rolled out. The patterns combine traditional and contemporary elements, as with other recent Williamsburg products. Thus, the line between formal and casual tabletop design continues to blur. Palace Orchard and Peyton, the new designs, complement the previously developed Gloucester Shell to fill out the initial collection. Williamsburg and Reed & Barton plan to expand the line, applying the same stylistic sensibilities.
Earth and Sky was an important theme for Gibson Overseas, where the general tendency in tabletop, domestics and home decor to develop looks that bring nature into the home was evident. Among the style updates was a shift to Moroccan designs, in part because of the earthy colors and from-nature patterns the look offered.
