New promotions at Advance Auto Parts

ROANOKE, Va. — Advance Auto Parts has announced the promotions of Kurt Schumacher to SVP, national field operations and Joe Gonzalez to area SVP.



Schumacher will lead the company's nearly 3,500 Advance Auto Parts stores and asset protection. Mr. Schumacher will report to Darren Jackson, president and CEO. Gonzalez will lead store operations inFlorida, the Southeast, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. He will report to Schumacher.



Schumacher joined Advance in 1998 through Advance’s acquisition of Western Auto and over the past 11 years served as an area SVP for the company. Prior to joining Advance, he held various roles with Murray’s Discount Auto Stores, Wheels Discount Auto and Western Auto/Parts America. Among his accomplishments with Advance Auto Parts, Schumacher has led consistent results in his area and led the successful integration of the Discount Auto Parts stores following Advance’s acquisition of the company in 2001.



Gonzalez joined Advance in 2001 with the company’s acquisition of Discount Auto Parts and has served in multiple field and corporate leadership roles. He most recently served as regional VP in Miami, Fla. and the surrounding area since August 2003, where he was responsible for the operations of more than 140 stores.
