New chairman named at Zale Corp.

DALLAS Zale Corp. has named a new chairman. According to an SEC filing John Lowe Jr., took on the position formerly held by Richard Marcus on Oct. 1. In the filing, Marcus is listed as a director for the company.

According to reports, Lowe joined Zale Corp.'s board of directors in 2004. His new role comes at a time when the company is selling its Bailey Banks & Biddle chain to Finlay Enterprises for $200 million.
