Neiman Marcus' 4Q Loss Widens
Dallas Neiman Marcus Inc. reported a net loss of $35.6 million in the quarter ended Aug. 2, compared with a net loss of $15.9 million last year.
Operating income swung to a $6.2 million loss vs. income of $32.2 million a year ago.
Sales rose to $1.03 billion in the quarter, up from $981.7 million in the prior year. Meanwhile, same-store sales decreased 1.4%.
Strength in the first half of its fiscal year resulted in full-year net income of $142.8 million compared with $111.9 million in fiscal 2007.
For the year, total revenue was $4.6 billion compared to $4.4 billion a year ago. Same-store sales increased 1.7% for the full year.
