Motorola names new co-ceos in preparation for split

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. As part of the preparation for its split into two publicly traded companies, Motorola has announced shifts in its management.

Qualcomm coo Sanjay Jha has been appointed co-ceo of the company and ceo of the mobile devices (cellular handset) group. Jha will report directly to the board of directors. In a related move, Greg Brown, formerly Motorola president and ceo, has become co-ceo of the company and ceo of the broadband mobility solution group.

“Brown and Jha will share responsibility for Motorola as it moves towards separating into two independent, publicly traded companies,” the company said in a statement.
