Month long Hispanic tribute begins today
Target his week will post on its Web sites a collection of videos from Hispanic people of interest as part of Hispanic Heritage Month which begins Sept. 15. The videos are part of the company’s Dream In Color campaign and will include Luis Fonsi, Juan Pablo Montoya, Elizabeth Pena and Lillian Ortiz.
“Each year, through our Dream in Color campaign, we have the opportunity to reflect on the diversity of our guests, as well as the United States as a whole,” said Greg Cunningham, Target’s group manager of marketing. “This year, we not only get the opportunity to honor well-known national Hispanic influencers, but also get to share the inspirational story of a local community leader, whose message teaches others that when we dream there are no boundaries.”
That local leader is school principal Lillian Ortiz. Other featured in the campaign that includes national advertising spots and online videos are musician Luis Fonsi, race car driver Juan Pablo Montoya and actress Elizabeth Penaand. Each was selected for their compelling and encouraging stories and their passion to inspire greatness in others. According to Target, The Dream in Color campaign recognizes these extraordinary individuals by creating a series of moving broadcast spots and online videos that capture their personal trials and are created to motivate others to set and achieve their personal goals. Target partnered with the Smithsonian Institution to offer free online lesson plans, resources, curriculum ideas and activities for educators of elementary, junior high and high school students to further encourage classroom celebrations.
