Modell’s implements JDA merchandising-management solution

Tampa , Fla. Modell’s Sporting Goods and retail consultant Retail Process Engineering said Monday they have completed and are implementing a new merchandising system that will drive inventory optimization and streamline processes for the 143-store chain.

The integrated merchandising and warehouse-management system -- JDA Software’s Merchandise Management System and point solutions -- is now live, along with JDA Retail IDEAS, Arthur Allocation and E3 Advanced Warehouse Replenishment and Advanced Store Replenishment.

All systems are integrated to a highly automated warehouse material handling system.

“We needed an end-to-end, robust merchandise management solution that offered core merchandising, warehousing and financial capabilities and could enhance inventory management efficiencies,” said Hans Kantor, VP IT, Modell’s Sporting Goods.
