Men’s Wearhouse closing tuxedo DC
Seattle The Men’s Wearhouse said it will close a tuxedo distribution center in Fife, Wash., according to a Tuesday report in the Puget Sound Business Journal.
The Houston-based retailer had announced in August that it would cease tuxedo distribution operations at four of its 11 U.S. locations. Men’s Wearhouse said operations at the closed facilities would be “assumed by other tuxedo distribution facilities in our system allowing us to more effectively manage our tuxedo rental operations ... The expected benefit to fiscal 2011 as a result of these closures would be a reduction in operating costs of approximately $4 million.”
The layoffs, which affect 42 employees, at the center are effective Nov. 12, according to a Washington Employment Security Department Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice.
