Megerian Rugs head earns top Armenian honor

NEW YORK Tigran Torosian, president of the Parliament of the Republic of Armenia, on behalf of his country, presented Raffi Megerian, president of Megerian Rugs, with a Gold Medal of Honor for his work in rebuilding Armenia's handmade rug production industry.

According to reports, the Gold Medal of Honor has been presented only 16 times before. Megerian was recognized for establishing more than 20 rug weaving facilities throughout Armenia.
