McDonald's sales growth slows in August
Chicago McDonald's Corp. said Wednesday sales rose 2.2% globally in August, the smallest monthly gain since February.
Cost-conscious shoppers have flocked to McDonald's low-priced menu for the past year.
But in August, McDonald's was forced to compare its sales figures with the same period last year, when results climbed 8.5%.
The company said same-store sales rose a weak 1.7% in the United States and 3.5% in Europe. In the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa regions, same-store sales fell 0.5%.
