McDonald's posts strong same-store sales growth in August

Oak Brook, Ill. McDonald's Corp. said Thursday that global same-store sales growth rose 4.9% in August.

In the United States, same-store sales grew 4.6%, Europe saw a 2.2% rise, and in the Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa same-store sales increased 7.8%.

Systemwide sales for the quick-serve chain increased 4.7% in August.
