McCain Foods taps new president, North America

McCain Foods has appointed Jeff DeLapp as president, North America, effective June 2. DeLapp takes over the role from Frank van Schaayk, who is retiring next October, and will be based in Lisle, Ill.



DeLapp has more than 25 years of leadership experience in the food industry. He was president of Lamb Weston from 2002 to 2010. Prior to joining Lamb Weston, he was president and COO at The Bruss Company (acquired by Tyson Foods).



"Jeff's passion, expertise in and dedication to the potato industry will be of great value to McCain," said president and CEO Dirk Van de Put. "He will be a tremendous asset to both our business and our senior leadership team."



DeLapp has a bachelor of science in marketing from the University of Oregon and a master of business administration from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.



McCain Foods is an international leader in the frozen food industry, employing more than 20,000 people and operating 50 production facilities on six continents. A privately-owned company headquartered in Florenceville-Bristol, NB, and Toronto, McCain generates annual sales of about CDN$7 billion. McCain is the world's largest manufacturer of frozen potato products, and also produces other products including pizza, appetizers, desserts and vegetables.
