Former Walmart executive Gary Maxwell has joined leading demand analytics provider Orchestro as the firm’s chief solutions officer.
Maxwell, a long-time member of Orchestro’s advisory board, retired from Walmart in 2013 after holding a variety of senior supply chain, replenishment and process improvement roles during a 14 year career. Prior to Walmart, Maxwell spent five years in a senior supply chain role with the now defunct Caldor chain.
As Orchestro’s chief solutions officer, Maxwell leads the firm’s customer-facing service enablement, engagement, education and delivery organizations. He joins the firm in conjunction with the latest release of Orchestro’s ShelfSense solution which is designed to enable proactive management of out-of-stocks and in-store promotion execution on a single platform.
The company said its latest release extends its business rules engine to include exception alerts for on-shelf availability and promotion execution. Alerts can be delivered via email or through Orchestro’s web and mobile applications that can be proactively managed in a prioritized manner. Exception alerts can be distributed to managers or field personnel to improve in-store execution or ensure store-level compliance with goals, according to the company.
