Master P, Romeo bring hip hop fashion to Wal-Mart
NEW YORK Father-and-son hip hop fashion duo Master P and Romeo are bringing their P.Miller boys clothing line to Wal-Mart. "The Great American Brand" debut at Wal-Mart marks the first deal the company has made with an African American hip hop supplier, according to the companies.
"Wal-Mart is such a diverse organization, they're making a lot of opportunities available to minority-owned companies that are ready to do business with a big corporation," said Master P. "This is the makings of a great partnership with the number-one retailer in the world. Together we're making it cool to shop for clothes at Wal-Mart."
The P.Miller line is meant to be comparable to pricier pieces available at department stores. For example, a P.Miller Designs shirt can be purchased for $9 at Wal-Mart, compared with a Polo brand shirt that costs up to $90 at some retail stores.
In addition to the boys line, Master P and Romeo have created a women's line called Miller Peaches with clothes selling for $10 or less. P.Miller brand shoes, jewelry, fragrances, and eco-friendly organic cotton clothes are also in the works.
