PetSmart is hoping to lure more Martha Stewart fans to its stores with a new line of natural, Made-in-the-USA pet products.
The retailer already sells Martha Stewart pet products, but it is now launching the Martha Stewart Pets Treat Shop, a line of oven-baked natural dog treats sold only at PetSmart.
We're excited Martha Stewart Pets has found another innovative way to make pet parenthood more fun," said Laurie Taylor, PetSmart's vice president of hardgoods merchandising. "We look forward to welcoming more pet parents into our stores who are looking for a wholesome, natural treat for their pets. Given Martha's culinary expertise, these treats, sold exclusively at PetSmart, are sure to provide the flavor pets love."
The biscuits are made in the USA with a limited number of carefully chosen ingredients and are inspired by the wholesome, delicious treats Martha makes and gives to her own dogs. Made in crunchy bite-size portions, the treats are ideal for training or as an anytime snack.
While developing our new Martha Stewart Pets Treat Shop biscuits, we discovered that dogs (including my own!) love flavors like peanut butter cookie and pumpkin pie just as much as we do, and I'm thrilled now to share these wonderful treats with dogs everywhere," said MSLO Founder and Chief Creative Officer Martha Stewart. "The delicious baked goodies we create in our own kitchens inspired them."
Martha Stewart Pets Treat Shop biscuits will be available in five flavors: Cranberry Muffin, Peanut Butter Cookie, Pumpkin Pie, Oatmeal Cookie, and Banana Bread. They are priced at $6.99 per 14-ounce bag in the United States and C$7.99 in Canada.
In a conference call with investors this month, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia's (MSO) CEO Dan Dienst said that Martha Stewart's pet products at PetSmart achieved double digit growth in 2014.
