Marks & Spencer implements Sysrepublic fraud-detection system
London Marks & Spencer said Friday it will roll out a fraud-detection system across all its stores before the end of the year, according to a report in Retail Week.
The retailer has signed a deal with Sysrepublic to introduce its secure data-mining system, following a test period to prove that the company would be able to identify enough fraudulent activity at checkout to generate a return on investment.
Marks & Spencer director of IT and logistics Darrell Stein said, “We selected the system to automatically analyze POS data to detect fraud patterns.”
Stein added that M&S and Sysrepublic ran a two-week trial in 120 stores before deciding to extend the implementation.
