Managers fired over kickback scheme

According to The Associated Press, Home Depot fired four purchasing managers for allegedly participating in a kickback scheme. The AP reported that Home Depot confirmed that the managers were accused of accepting payments from flooring vendors in exchange for shelf space in Home Depot stores.

According to the AP, Jerry Shiels, a spokesman for Home Depot, the vendors with which the managers were allegedly involved with were based in Asia and the products in question involved tile and other flooring materials.

Home Depot is not commenting on the specifics of the investigation, the AP reported, and is cooperating with law enforcement authorities who are looking into the situation.
