Macy’s to stop gift-wrapping services
Cincinnati Macy’s Cincinnati-area department stores are phasing out gift-wrapping services this month as part of a national effort to standardize services across the company’s 800-store platform, according to the Cincinnati Business Courier.
Macy’s spokesman Jim Sluzewski said only five flagship stores will continue to have a gift-wrapping department in the future. Those stores are at Herald Square in New York City; State Street in Chicago; Union Square in San Francisco; South Coast Plaza in Orange County, Calif.; and Dadeland Mall in Miami.
“You have to have a certain level of traffic to justify the expense of keeping the area,” Sluzewski said. “Gift wrap has been a diminishing business for quite a few years.”
