Macy’s Plans New Store in Florida

Cincinnati Macy’s announced plans on Wednesday to open a Macy’s store at the new University Town Center development in Sarasota, Fla. Groundbreaking is planned for fall 2009, and the 150,000-sq.-ft store will open in fall 2010.

University Town Center is being developed by The Forbes Co., The Taubman Co. and Benderson Development Co.

The Macy’s Florida division is based in Miami and currently operates 62 stores in Florida and Puerto Rico
