Macy's launches eco awareness campaign
NEW YORK Macy's has partnered with the National Park Foundation to help facilitate its "Turn Over A New Leaf Campaign," which will run from April 20 through April 27, the company reported. According to the company, the awareness campaign is designed to support, educate and inspire sustainability and eco-friendly practices in everyday life.
"A source of exploration and discovery, national parks are a beloved and vital part of our nation's heritage," said Peter Sachse, president of Macy's corporate marketing. "The collaboration between Macy's and the National Park Foundation is designed to inspire a renewed interest in protecting and preserving our national parks and to heighten environmental awareness among our customers and employees."
As part of its Turn Over a New Leaf campaign, Macy's said that on April 20, it will begin offering a 100% natural cotton reusable tote bag. The bags will sell for $3.95 with $1 of the purchase price going to the National Park Foundation. At the company's One Good Turn national charity event on April 26, Macy's said the first 150 customers will receive the tote for free.
In addition to the totes, Macy's reported that customers will also find eco-friendly merchandise from vendors like Origins, Hush Puppies, DKNY and Macy's brands, including Style & Co. Sport and Haven by Hotel Collection.
