Macy’s to help clothe the needy
Macy’s is committed to giving back this winter through its “Buy 1 & We’ll Give 1” effort. Through October 26, Macy’s will donate one coat, up to 50,000 coats, to Clothe4Souls for every coat purchased in the men’s, women’s, juniors’ and children’s departments in Macy’s stores and on macys.com.
The joy of giving will also be a joy of saving, as Macy’s will offer 30-50% discount on a large selection of men’s, women’s and children’s coats during the campaign.
“With the support of Macy’s customers, we were able to meet our goal of donating 30,000 much-needed coats last year,” said Holly Thomas, Macy’s group vice president of media relations and cause marketing. “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Clothes4Souls by increasing our commitment to 50,000 coats to help the men, women and children in our local communities stay warm this holiday season. We know Macy’s customers and associates will be excited to continue giving back to this worthy cause.”
“Macy’s has a long history of making a difference,” said Buddy Teaster, CEO of Soles4Souls. “The second year of working with them means that another 50,000 people all across the United States will be able to get through winter with a warm coat. It takes a great partner to care for those in need and Macy’s is providing incredibly valuable coats at exactly the right time. For Clothes4Souls, this is one of our favorite partnerships of the year.”
Clothes4Souls is a division of Soles4Souls Inc., an international not-for-profit dedicated to fighting poverty and suffering through the distribution of clothing that it collects from manufacturers, designers, retailers and individuals. Clothes4Souls has donated millions of articles of clothing throughout the United States in partnership with hundreds of local service and relief agencies. As part of Macy’s “Buy 1 & We’ll Give 1” program, coats donated will average in retail price from $40 to $100 each. For every coat purchased during the promotion period, one coat will be donated to our local communities.
