Macy's East stores to open for 24 hours

NEW YORK Shoppers in the metro looking for extra time to buy their holiday gifts will have some help from Macy’s.

According to reports, starting the morning of Dec. 21, seven Macy's stores will be open 24 hours a day, closing at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The Queens Center Mall Macy's will start its 24-hour operations on Dec. 20.

Reports indicate that Macy's East said that despite questions from the industry, it was not a last minute decision to institute the 24-hour sale and that an event like this requires a lot of planning.
