Logistics provider names new ops exec
Frank McGuigan is the new EVP of operations at Transplace, a leading third party logistics provider.
McGuigan joined Transplace in 2011 as SVP of contract logistics after the fast-growing, Dallas-based company acquired SCO Logistics where McGuigan served as president and CEO.
"Frank complements Transplace’s strong capabilities in operations and supply chain management, and his strong leadership enhances our executive team in a time of record growth and profits," said Transplace president George Abernathy. "His promotion continues the expectation for even greater success and market share across North America. Since Frank joined Transplace, he has successfully integrated the SCO Logistics’ office operations and customers into Transplace’s service and technology platforms, while increasing our contract logistics business and growing our organization. With the success that Transplace has experienced from Frank’s leadership, I am pleased to have him join the executive team where the company can fully employ the skills and talent he has to offer."
McGuigan joined SCO Logistics in 2006 as EVP of sales and marketing and shortly thereafter was named president. Prior to SCO Logistics, he was the commercial leader for three divisions of Penske Logistics. McGuigan has also held leadership roles at Matlack, Inc. and Kerr-Norton Steamship Agency.
