LogicSource expands procurement services
NORWALK, Conn. — LogicSource, a procurement services firm which initially focused on printed materials and related commodities and services, will now offer clients sourcing and procurement of materials for store construction and maintenance, including rollout displays, fixtures, lighting, flooring, mannequins, hangers, gift boxes, bags and exterior signage.
LogicSource has also added experienced retail industry veterans Jim Burnham and Jennifer Liu to its executive team to work with clients on its expanded service offerings. The firm's retail industry clients include Michaels Stores, Gymboree and Harley Davidson.
"Our expanded retail capabilities are a natural extension of LogicSource's offerings as we help clients save 10% to 30% on their purchasing," said David Pennino, president and CEOof LogicSource. "Our retail clients continue to drive us into new categories of both direct and indirect procurement in an effort to reduce SG&A. In addition to our successful focus within sales and marketing operations, this move enables us to add in-store operations to our offerings in both our services and technology businesses."
LogicSource had previously offered retail-focused procurement services for point-of-sale displays, direct marketing, printed materials and packaging, but had not offered clients the option of sourcing a large portion of their store-related needs. The expanded LogicSource retail offerings are built in to the firm's popular OneMarket e-procurement software application, which improves the speed and effectiveness of the procure-to-pay process.
Burnham has been named a managing director at LogicSource. He will help retail clients improve their return on investment in marketing initiatives, drive increased customer traffic to stores, and utilize savings to increase investment in other multichannel programs. Burnham joins LogicSource from global business process outsourcing firm Williams Lea, where he served as VP and general manager and was responsible for leading and growing the retail and consumer packaged goods sector. He is a former franchise owner at BoConcept, a furniture retailer, and served as a Controller at Marks & Spencer, a clothing and home products retail chain in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Liu has been named to the newly created position of VP retail operations, vendor management, with responsibility for identifying and implementing cost-saving programs for clients. She most recently served as senior director global procurement at Ann Taylor, where she developed and implemented a centralized procurement system, and greatly increased productivity through new sourcing processes.
"The backgrounds and experience Jim and Jennifer bring to LogicSource add to our capabilities in providing our clients with proven and innovative ways to manage procurement more efficiently and reduce costs," Pennino said. "We look forward to them playing important roles in the company as we expand our menu of services."
