Loblaw selects Gilbarco’s FlexPay system
Greensboro, N.C. Loblaw Cos. Limited will upgrade more than 750 fuel dispensers at 200 locations across Canada with Gilbarco’s FlexPay EMV CRIND Card Reader in Dispenser. The new CRIND complies with EuroPay MasterCard Visa payment-system requirements as it is able handle “chip and PIN” debit and credit cards.
"Gilbarco has been our preferred dispenser supplier for many years, and we trust their leadership and expertise in outdoor payment,” said Brian Magdee, VP of the autofuel business at Loblaw, which is based in Toronto. “The FlexPay EMV CRIND is the easiest and most integrated field retrofit solution we’ve found.”
Loblaw Cos Limited, a subsidiary of George Weston Limited, is Canada’s largest food distributor and a leading provider of general merchandise products, drugstore and financial products and services.
“Loblaw is among the first in Canada to organize and deploy a network-wide EMV solution at their dispensers, and we are proud to be supporting them with the right products and services,” said Scott McDowell, director of dispenser applications at Gilbarco Veeder-Root.
