Linens 'N Thing resurrected in Canada

10/8/2009

NEW YORK Linens 'N Things announced that it has signed a license agreement with Home Outfitters, a division of Hudson's Bay Company and one of Canada's largest home goods retailers, under which a special line of Linens 'N Things branded home goods will be produced and exclusively sold at Home Outfitters in Canada. The companies say the agreement, which includes a broad range of bed and bath, home decor as well as seasonal products, extends through 2016 and is projected to generate in excess of $100 million in retail sales over the term.

The home goods will premier in all 69 Home Outfitters locations beginning in the spring of 2010. "We intend to build on and cultivate the vast following of the Linens 'N Things brand in Canada," said Kerry Mader, SVP Hudson's Bay Company. "As a highly recognized and trusted brand it will provide a quality and fashionable alternative ideally suited for our customers."

This agreement marks the return of Linens 'N Things to retail stores. The home goods retailer continued its online business after closing its stores last year.

"This partnership marks a huge step toward returning the iconic brand to retail stores," said Jamie Salter and echoed by Stephen Miller, Co-CEOs of Linens 'N Things, "Our expansive assortment at Home Outfitters creates a launching pad from which we can expand Linens 'N Things branded goods into other markets, including the United States."
