Limited Brands posts 3Q earnings drop

COLUMBUS, Ohio Limited Brands reported that earnings per share for the third quarter ended Nov. 1, were 1 cent compared to 3 cents last year.

Comparable-store sales for the third quarter decreased 7%, and net sales were $1.842 billion compared to $1.923 billion last year.

The company expects 2008 fourth quarter earnings per share to be 85 cents to $1.00 compared to 94 cents per share last year.
