Limited Brands comps up in wake of divestures

COLUMBUS, Ohio In the wake of announcing the sale of a majority stake in both Limited Stores and Express to focus on intimates and personal care, Limited Brands today reported comparable-store sales for the five weeks ended July 7, increased 3% compared to the five weeks ended July 8, 2006. The company reported net sales of $1.2 billion for the five weeks ended July 7, compared to sales of $1.1 billion for the five weeks ended July 1, 2006.

The company reported a comparable-store sales increase of 3% for the 22 weeks ended July 7. Net sales increased 11% to $4.3 billion compared to net sales of $3.9 billion last year.
