LG.Philips LCD returns to black

SEOUL, Korea LG.Philips LCD today reported that sales in the second quarter of 2007 increased by 23% to $3.6 billion from sales of $3 billion in the first quarter of 2007 and increased 45% compared to $2.5 billion in the second quarter of 2006.

Operating profit in the second quarter of 2007 was $163 million compared to an operating loss of $225 million in the first quarter of 2007, and an operating loss of  $403 million in the second quarter of 2006. Net income in the second quarter of 2007 was a profit of $247 million compared to a loss of $183 million in the first quarter of 2007 and a loss of $349 million in the second quarter of 2006.
