Leadership changes at Barcoding, Inc.
BALTIMORE, Md. — Barcoding, Inc., a leader in the automated data collection market, has promoted Shane Snyder to president. He succeeds Jay Steinmetz, who founded the company and remains the company’s CEO.
As president, Snyder will direct Barcoding’s day-to-day business operations and lead expansions into traditional markets.
Barcoding sells, installs and services wireless barcode-based data collection systems designed to help streamline manufacturing, warehousing and distribution operations. It supplies third-party hardware and software from such vendors as Zebra Technologies, Symbol Technologies and Psion Teklogix. The company's offerings include tracking and warehouse management software, bar code scanners and printers, radio-frequency identification systems and wireless LANs. Some of its customers include MIT and industrial manufacturer McNeilus.
With more than 22 years of success in sales management, workforce management, consulting and decision support sectors, Snyder started as VP of sales at Barcoding in 2010. In this position, Snyder led Barcoding’s national sales force, reconstituted the inside sales organization and opened a new office in Chicago.
“During his tenure as VP of sales, Shane Snyder proved to be the driving force behind the growth and stabilization of Barcoding’s sales team. Shane’s deep understanding of our business model, target markets and breadth of mobile solutions more than qualify him to assume role of president,” said Steinmetz.
Prior to Barcoding, Snyder served as EVP of sales for Catalyst IT Services. Snyder began his career as a sales representative at Kronos Incorporated and went on to become the company’s national director of sales in 2001. Snyder holds a bachelor of science and a bachelor of arts in accounting and a master of information science from Bucknell University.
“The constant evolution of technology and growing number of organizations recognizing the potential of data capture and mobility solutions make it an exciting time work for Barcoding, Inc.,” said Snyder. “I look forward to my new role as the company’s president and to continue growing Barcoding in the right direction.”
