L.A.'s Manhattan Village gets major makeover

5/18/2016

The Manhattan Village Shopping Center in Los Angeles County serves some of the nation’s wealthiest zip codes which explains why JLL is leading a $150 million investment in a redesign and expansion of the mixed use center.

The planned multi-phased renovation will bring new life to the 573,000-sq.-ft. shopping and dining destination that occupies 44 acres and serves the South Bay cities and Silicon Beach areas of Los Angeles County, according to JLL.

“We're excited to kick off this first phase of the redevelopment," said Steve Yenser, executive vice president for JLL Retail. "With entitlements and approvals in place, we have a green light. With this redesign we have the opportunity to rebalance and rejuvenate Manhattan Village and ensure that it meets the future expectations of our discerning shoppers."

The redevelopment launches with the immediate updating and remerchandising of the center's interior mall. Key tenants such as Apple, Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Sephora and Victoria's Secret among other major retailers will remain at Manhattan Village, with the future addition of affordable luxury-brand retail, unique-to-market shops and signature restaurants envisioned.

Future phases of the development plan include a 53,300-sq-ft. open air expansion called The Village Shops adjacent to the enclosed mall that will include retail and restaurants. Also planned is the renovation of the existing community center component anchored by Ralph’s Fresh Fare and CVS Pharmacy.
