Land O'Lakes to sponsor global food security symposium
Land O'Lakes' initiative to leverage technology to manage risk associated with weather and climate change will be part of a conversation this week focused on food security and climate change that brings together experts from the public and private sectors.
Chris Policinski, president and CEO of the Arden Hills, Minnesota-based cooperative, will attend Chicago Council's Global Food Security Symposium to highlight how Land O'Lakes is helping farmers around the world develop sustainable agricultural practices that enable them to produce more food using the same amount of land and fewer natural resources. Land O'Lakes will again sponsor the summit, which will focus this year on how the U.S. government, working across all sectors of society, will advance food security in a changing climate.
"Advancing food security in a changing climate is one of the biggest challenges facing our world," Policinski said. "Through our global partnerships and our investments in technology in the United States, we work to help farmers use agricultural best practices to meet the challenge of improving agricultural productivity and creating vibrant functioning markets."
Land O'Lakes stressed its commitment to finding the most effective ways to make food systems more resilient to extreme weather and to manage water stressors related to food production.
