Irvine, Calif. – La Jolla Group, vertical retailer of multiple specialty apparel brands, knows a thing or two about keeping the bad guys out of its network. The company has been using Dell SonicWall TZ series firewall technology to ensure security at both corporate headquarters and its 18 retail stores.
“Most of our security incidents have come from phishing emails, socially engineered emails or employees typing in the wrong Web address,” said Brett Hanlon, director of IT infrastructure at La Jolla Group, during an exclusive interview with Chain Store Age.
Having already successfully used Dell SonicWall technology at its corporate headquarters, La Jolla decided to extend its use to stores.
“We’re an action sports retailer with young, hip store associates,” said Hanlon. “They’re on social media and doing downloads. We add one extra layer of security to general IP filtering. We don’t want a ‘super lockdown’ environment. We also prevent the Eastern bloc from accessing our network.”
Dell is releasing a new line of SonicWall TZ Series firewalls. Featuring a dramatic increase in network performance to support faster Internet speeds, the ability to analyze encrypted SSL traffic, and an integrated wireless controller, the new solutions deliver enterprise-class security.
Offering 1GbE network interfaces Dell SonicWall TZ Series delivers anti-malware protection, intrusion prevention, content and URL filtering, application control, and secure mobile access for laptops, smartphones and tablets. With the SonicWall Mobile Connect unified client, the new TZs provide secure mobile access to Google Android, Mac OS X, Kindle Fire and laptop users.
