Kroger promotes Williams to senior vp
CINCINNATI The Kroger Co. today announced Pete Williams has been promoted to senior vp, effective Aug. 19. In his 29-year career with Kroger, Williams has held several leadership positions in the company, including his most recent role as president of Kroger's Mid-Atlantic division.
Williams joined Kroger in 1977 as a management trainee in Memphis, Tenn. During his career with Kroger, he has served in a variety of leadership roles, including director of labor relations for the company and vp of operations and human resources for Kroger's Atlanta division.
Jay Cummins has been named to replace Williams as president of Kroger's Mid-Atlantic division, effective Aug. 19. Cummins currently serves as president of the company's Food 4 Less division, which operates 146 price-impact, warehouse-format supermarkets in California, Nevada, Illinois and Indiana. Cummins began his career with Alpha Beta in 1972.
