Kmart to lay off 71 in Raleigh
Raleigh, N.C. Kmart Corp. is laying off 71 employees at one of its Wake County stores in North Carolina, according to a notification the company filed with the North Carolina Department of Commerce.
The layoffs are taking place at the Kmart Super Center in Raleigh.
The layoffs are a result of converting the Super K, which has a grocery section, into a Big K, which does not.
The jobs are a mix of full- and part-time positions. Those associates who are eligible will receive severance packages, said the company.
