Kids Brands EVP and COO adds CFO to resume
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Kid Brands' EVP and COO Kerry Carr is about to take on a third title at the company as its new CFO. The news comes amid the company's announcement that it has sold the Russ and Applause brands to Larsen and Bowman Holdings for $1.25 million.
Carr replaces James Christl, whose resignation for personal reasons from his position as SVP and CFO has been accepted by the company.
"We are pleased to have Kerry expand her leadership role with Kid Brands to serve in the additional capacity of CFO,” said president and CEO Raphael Benaroya. “Since joining Kid Brands, she has affected our business favorably in a number of areas including inventory management, logistics and expense reduction, while bringing a high level of energy and discipline to our organization. Kerry is committed to serving as CFO of Kid Brands, leading our seasoned and dedicated finance team. We are confident that her extensive financial experience in the consumer goods sector, including her service as a CFO, and additional finance, internal audit, operational and restructuring roles, will continue to benefit the company going forward."
The company added that Christl's resignation is not related to any disputes with it or its board of directors concerning the company's financial statements, internal controls or accounting policies and practices.
Carr has served as EVP and COO of Kid Brands since September 12, 2012. Prior to joining Kid Brands, Carr held various senior executive positions for almost a decade at Avon Products, most recently as group VP of long-range business review initiative. Preceding her tenure at Avon, she was VP of internal audit and security at AT&T, and served in various capacities at the Walt Disney Company, including her latest position there as SVP and CFO of ABC Broadcasting.
