Keyes Steps Down as 7-Eleven Chief
Dallas, On Nov. 9, Seven-Eleven Japan completed a tender offer that gave it 100% ownership of Dallas-based 7-Eleven Inc. On Nov. 11, Jim Keyes retired as president, CEO and director of 7-Eleven. His 20-year career with 7-Eleven included stints as CFO and chief operating officer.
"We are grateful to Jim for his many contributions and years of service to 7-Eleven, Inc., and we wish him well in his future endeavors," said Toshifumi Suzuki, chairman and CEO of Seven-Eleven Japan, Co., Ltd. Seven-Eleven Japan and its affiliates have owned a majority stake in 7-Eleven, Inc. since 1991.
With Keyes at the helm, the company produced record sales and profits, including the company's announcement last month of its 36th consecutive quarter of U.S. same-store merchandise sales growth.
